[SOLVED] Nvida Driver Installation in Ubuntu 12.04
I have got a problem in Graphics Driver installation in Ubuntu 12.04 a few weeks ago. My system have Nvidia GeForce Driver and I cannot be installed the additional driver. When I open the Setting Manager of Nvidia the message displays saying to edit the configuration file and restart.
But I knew that the additional driver doesn't support the GeForce GT/GeForce FX and some others too. Execute the command given from the Terminal to remove the Nvidia driver from the system.
sudo apt-get remove nvidia-current nvidia-current-updates nvidia-settings nvidia-settings-updates
Now install the nvidia driver using the command below:
sudo apt-get install nvidia-173
Then run sudo nvidia-xconfig and reboot. This command will create the new xor.conf and you may observe the result after rebooting.
Hope this Helps!
